Auction Policies
Auction Policies
Title Absent Policy Sellers have 30 calendar days to surrender negotiable titles sold through Manheim Ft. Lauderdale. As per NAAA, Sellers have until the end of the next business day* from when the arbitration claim was filed to provide the title to the auction. Once received, Auctions will be allowed a reasonable time for processing, handling, and shipping or making available to the Buyer.
*Claims for Absent/Late Titles initiated after 3pm local auction time, or close of business if earlier than 3pm, will not be processed or acknowledged until the following business day.
Vehicles submitted to mechanical/CR arbitration(s) must have 200 miles or less accumulated on the odometer between the time the odometer reading is recorded at the auction and the claim date.
If a drop off is taking place after normal hours, security will contact the manager on-call to print missing gate passes.
As per NAAA, Sellers have until the end of the “next business day” to provide the title to the auction. Once received, Auctions will be allowed a reasonable time for processing, handling, and shipping or making available to the Buyer.
For vehicles arbitrated for failure to produce title, Buyers will be assessed a penalty for excessive mileage for any vehicle returned with more than 500 miles above what is noted on the Bill of Sale.
For each mile over the 500-mile allowance, the charge will follow the IRS mileage rate (currently .625 per mile) but will not exceed 10% of auction sale price.
For lower priced vehicles, if the penalty exceeds 10% of the vehicle sale price, the Arbitrator may adjust the charge to the higher of $500 or 10% of auction sale price.
